The ROOTS Diagnostic is our evaluation framework designed around a simple truth: sustainable growth requires strong foundations. Just like a tree, you need deep roots before you can grow tall and weather storms.


  • We start at the foundation—your Reason—ensuring you have a clear 'why' that drives every decision. 
  • Then we examine your Objectives—the strategic vision and goals that define what you're building. 
  • Next, we evaluate your Operations—the systems, habits, and processes that turn strategy into results. 
  • We assess your Talent—whether you have the right people around you, whether you're in the right role yourself, and what needs exist for skillset development. 
  • Finally, we analyze your Standing—your competitive position, reputation, and the external landscape—because internal excellence must meet market reality.

Reason (the WHY)

Objectives (the WHAT)

Operations (the HOW)

The execution engine. For organizations, this assesses the systems, processes, and mechanisms that turn strategy into reality. For individuals, it examines your personal systems, habits, routines, and time management. Are the right structures in place to achieve your Objectives and fulfill your Reason? Where are the gaps, inefficiencies, or opportunities for improvement? When systems and processes are perfectly designed to carry out the Objectives, people are empowered to perform at their highest level.

Talent (the WHO)

The people power. For organizations, this evaluates whether you have the right people in the right roles, and whether they are empowered to succeed. For individuals, it assesses your support network, mentors, and whether you're surrounded by people who elevate you. It also examines where the greatest needs exist for skillset development. Are the right people in the right role to achieve your Objectives? What skills and abilities are needed to succeed? When the right people are in the right roles with the right skillsets, excellence becomes the standard.

Standing (EXTERNAL FACTORS)

The reality check. For organizations, this evaluates competitive position, market conditions, reputation, and external opportunities or threats. For individuals, it examines how you're positioned in your industry, your professional reputation, your network strength, and external factors affecting your career trajectory. Even with perfect internal alignment, external forces shape your success. Do you understand where you stand and what's coming? When you are rooted in the right environment and equipped to respond to external factors, sustainable growth occurs.
